Dr. Suzan Ekim received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Western Ontario where she graduated at the top of her class and was awarded the gold medal of distinction. She moved to Minnesota in 2001, where she received her Orthodontics Residency Specialty Certificate and Master’s Degree in Science at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Ekim is involved in several orthodontic and dental organizations, including holding the position of Program Chair for the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists from 2006 to 2007 and for the Midwest Society of Orthodontists in 2009. In addition, in 2005, she was honored to become the orthodontist for the Minnesota Vikings organization.
Dr. Ekim currently practices privately at her locations in Eden Prairie and in Prior Lake/Savage, Minnesota. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professors at the University of Minnesota since 2003 and was the Graduate Program Director for the Division of Orthodontics from 2007 to 2009. Currently, at the University she focuses on providing and teaching the orthodontic care of clef lip/palate and surgical orthodontic patients. She was awarded the Eugene W. Memorial Fellowship Award in 2005 in recognition of her academic contributions and teaching ability. Dr. Ekim lectures on many topics and is committed to lifelong learning as demonstrated by her continuing education attendanace and being the Co-Director of the Gold Orthodontic Study Club at the University. Her commitment to education ensures the most advanced and proven methods are offered in her clinics. Her pracitce vision is to help her patients achieve excellent oral health, a beautiful smile, and higher self-confidence while having a positive experience in a fun and caring environment.
